Manipur Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar on Thursday assured that the results for the posts of Dhanamanjuri University’s (DMU) 165 non-teaching staff would be announced within the next few days.
“DMU had finished the selection process and sent the recommendations to the government through the department of personnel but it was withheld due to a vigilance case in connection with the announcement of results for the post of assistant professors,” he said.
Speaking to the media during an event held at City Convention Centre, Imphal, the minister stated that there were certain miscommunications with the department of personnel regarding the announcement of results for the posts of 83 assistant professors for DMU.
“It has come to light that the results were announced without informing the department of personnel and as such, a vigilance case was lodged. But the government has sorted out the case and will announce the results and approval within the next few weeks,” he said.
He further stated that the state government instructed DMU to start the appointment process of vice chancellor since long back but it is not finished as the process is a long and tedious task.
“The government is not directly involved in the appointment of DMU’s VC. The appointment process has started since May but unfortunately the students do not know this,” he said.
He further assured that the results would be announced in the next few days and maintained that the government was paying close attention to the issue.
