The Directorate of Education (S), Manipur on Monday clarified that a notice being circulated on social media about the government deciding to restrict physical classes of Class IX to XII due to rising Omicron cases, and the plan to postpone their examinations unless the situation improves by January 5, is all fake news. In a release, director of Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh stated that the department has not issued any such orders and all physical classes for Class IX and above will continue as per earlier orders of the government. Further, the department is taking up steps to identify the offender with the help of the Cyber Crime Unit and to punish the culprits as per law, it added.
