Imphal West DC Th Kirankumar on Sunday stressed on the importance of giving proper career counseling, stating that each student has different talents and skills, guardians and teachers are responsible for the ‘invisible’ students to make them visible.
He was speaking as chief guest at the 3rd UNACCO School Meritorious Awards-2023 and 1st Felicitation of School toppers (Class X, 2023) at Refectory Hall of UNACCO School, Meitram, Imphal West.
In every class most teachers only recognise the students who are naughty, talented, toppers and good. There are many students who are not included under these categories and those students are considered as ‘invisible’ students, he said.
However, in future many of those invisible students also become visible when they are guided carefully after giving them proper career counseling, he added.
Each student has different talents and skills; teachers, guardians and parents should provide them proper career counseling as there is no such thing that the ‘invisible’ students will remain mediocre in their career or every topper will get high ranking jobs, said Kirankumar.
In their journey, every successful person has faced failure in their lives, he mentioned.
Every student whether they are toppers or ‘invisible’ should work hard in order to build a good career, he added.
UNACCO Chairman N Irabanta; trustee, UNACCO Social Development Trust Longjam Shyamananda Singh also attended the function as president and guest of honour respectively.
As a part of the function and to motivate and encourage the passed out students of Class X and XII of BOSEM, CBSE and COHSEM in first division who are staying in Meitram and its surrounding villages were facilitated with mementos, citation and cash awards.
