The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary Examination, 2022 to be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) is set to begin. While exam for class 10 will begin on April 5, class 12 exam will begin on April 7.
Over 39,000 students will be appearing in the class 10 board examinations 2022 to be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) physically on Tuesday in 192 centres across the state, according to the board.
In 2021, the board examinations were conducted through Alternative Assessment/ Evaluation Mechanism due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This year, with the return to normalcy, the government has decided to conduct the examination physically, by observing all SOPs," Chief Minister N Biren said on Monday.
BOSEM has apprised the medical director to extend necessary help to ensure preventive measures against Covid, said S Mangijao Singh, secretary, BOSEM.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Biren has extended his best wishes to students who will be appearing in the ensuing Class-10 and Class-12 Examinations 2022 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).
“Do not be depressed by questions that you could not answer. Attempt good replies to those questions, the answers of which you have prepared for. Remember these examinations are merely bridges that are laid before you, to cross. You have worked hard and therefore, let go of stress and cross them with calmness of thought and fairness in action. Make it an experience to learn from, for life will throw you many more steps and bridges to cross,” the chief minister said in his message to the students.
He urged the parents, teachers and guardians to motivate and guide the students so that they can meet the challenges with confidence.
“Be patient, be understanding and be kind as these young children face their first big challenges in life. Teach them to overcome fear at every step of their lives. Once again, I pray that all our students perform well and come out with flying colours,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) has sought the attention of the state Home department to ensure the safety and security of students who will be appearing the Class-10 and Class-12 board examinations.
“In view of the upcoming examinations for Class-10 and 12 by COHSEM and BOSEM, the government of Manipur to be conducted in the state and looking for the safety and security of the children/students in appearing their examinations, the state commission is requesting the Home department to ensure safety and security of students while going for appearing their examination and returning from their examination,” the MCPCR said on April 1.
The MCPCR also requested for arrangement to reduce traffic jam to ensure safe and convenient travel for students and other commuters during examination time.
In Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, as many as 2,275 will be appearing the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2022 in 11 centres.
The centres are Ukhrul Higher Secondary School, OTC Juniors Academy Ukhrul, Savio School Ukhrul, KTL Excel Higher Secondary School Phungreitang, Model High School Ukhrul, Ukhrul Central School, Kamjong High School, Somdal NK Higher Secondary School, Phungyar High School, Kasomwo, Khullen High School and Chingai High School.
