Meritorious students of Lamding Cherapur felicitated

Along with certificates and mementos, cash prizes of Rs 900, Rs 700 and Rs 600 were awarded to the students who scored first, second and third position respectively.

A felicitation programme for successful students of class X and XII of Lamding Cherapur was organised by Youth Development Club (YDC) at Lamding Cherapur Awang Leikai mandop in Thoubal district on Saturday.

The event was attended by Khangabok assembly constituency former MLA Okram Landhoni as the chief guest, Wangjing chartered accountant Chongtham Sanjoi as the special guest, Sangaiyumpham ZP member Md Hibjur Rahman as the president

Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Okram Landhoni advised the students on the importance of appearing in the exam honestly without using any unfair means. Scoring high marks is not as important as learning the lessons, she added.

Special guest Chongtham Sanjoi also urged the students to use their education as a tool to develop their society for the better. YDC president Thongram Joy mentioned that the event was organised to celebrate and encourage the success of the students.

Sangaiyumpham Part II GP pradhan nominee Md Wahidur Rahman, upa pradhan S Shantibala, ward number IV member Y Manitombi and Royal Academy Lamding Wangjing founder L Surendrakumar attended as guests of honour.

During the prize distribution ceremony, CBSE class X topper for Lamding Y Alison was awarded with ‘late S Kunjo memorial prize’ presented by Th Joy; BOSEM class X topper for Lamding T Albert was awarded with ‘late Th Modhu memorial prize’ presented by Th Manichandra; COHSEM science stream topper for Lamding Arina was awarded with ‘late Sorokhaibam Bheigya Singh memorial prize’ presented by S Bankimchandra;

CBSE class XII topper for areas under YDC S Pushparani was awarded with ‘ late Sorokhaibam Lokhon memorial prize’ presented by S Sanjoi; BOSEM class X topper for areas under YDC S Silpa was awarded with ‘late Longjam Joykumar memorial prize’ presented by L Anandkumar; COHSEM class XII topper for areas under YDC Longjam Arina was awarded with award presented by Laishram Jogen.
