Manipur University, Canchipur has issued a notice inviting online applications from eligible candidates for provisional admission to the Pre-Ph D programme for the session 2023 for 23 departments.
The departments are Adult Continuing Education and Extension, Anthropology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Dance and Music, Earth sciences, Forestry and Environmental science, Geography, Hindi, Library and Information science, Linguistics, Law, Management (MIMS), Manipuri, Mathematics, National Security Studies, Physical Education and Sports Sc., Philosophy, Sociology, Statistics and Zoology.
Candidates who have passed the PG examination in the concerned subject with 55 per cent marks or above B Grade in the seven point scale or above (50 per cent marks for SCIST/OBC (non-creamy layer), Differently-abled and other categories of candidates a per the decision of the UGC from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master's degree prior to 19 September, 1991 and candidates who have appeared the qualifying examination and waiting for the results are also eligible to apply for the programme, the notice further added.
The number of vacancies will be determined at the time of provisional registration. Only those candidates who have successfully completed the Pre-Ph D course work with a minimum of B Grade in the 7- point scale will be eligible for registration to the Ph D programme. University Fellowships, wherever applicable, will be given with effect from the date of provisional Ph D registration.
The minimum CGPA/marks will be relaxed by 0.5 CGPA or 5 marks in case of candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD categories.
Interested candidates can submit their online application through Manipur University website www.manipuruniv.ac.in. Application fee for general category will be Rs 500 whereas for ST/SC/PWD category will be Rs 300 and has to be paid in full.
Online application submission will start from January 30 and the last date will be February 28.
