Manipur: Student body demands reparation

All Manipur Bengali Students Union on Wednesday demanded the state Education department to grant additional marks to candidates of class 12 Bengali subject exam undertaken by COHSEM, as reparation for alleged out-of-syllabus questions.

In a press meet held at the conference hall of Jiri News Network at Babupara, Jiribam district, All Manipur Bengali Students Union president Md Ibrahim Khan said that COHSEM’s class 12 exam for Bengali subject on April 9 had proven to be detrimental towards the candidates.

Condemning the alleged changing of syllabus without any prior notice to the students, he urged the state Education department to grant the candidates with 38 marks as reparation for the 38 marks questions in the ‘prose section’ which were “beyond the syllabus.”

The press meet was attended by All Manipur Bengali Students Union general secretary Hamidul Alom, assistant secretary Md Rajmul Hussain and other members.
