Manipur: COHSEM declares class-12 exam 2020 results; girls shine

The Council of Higher Education Manipur (COHSEM) on Friday declared the results of class-12 examination conducted by it. The pass percentage of the COHSEM examination 2020 is 86 per cent, which is the highest pass percentage in the last two years.

The Council of Higher Education Manipur (COHSEM) on Friday declared the results of class-12 examination conducted by it. This year, the pass percentage of the COHSEM examination 2020 is 86 per cent, which is the highest pass percentage in the last two years.

The pass percentage in 2018 was 67 per cent and in 2019, it was 73.83 per cent. All the toppers of the three streams are all girls. Altogether, a total of 29,072 students appeared in the examination.

In a remarkable development of government schools, a student of TG Higher Secondary School (a government school) bagged the first positions in Arts and Commerce streams.

Four students of government schools also scored in the top 10 position in the Arts stream.

The examination result was declared by state Education Minister Th Radheshyam on Friday at the conference hall of the Council office at Babupara, Imphal.

While addressing the media, Radheshyam asked the students who did not clear the examination not to feel depressed, instead he asked them to feel motivated so that they can do much better next year.

The minister appealed to the parents of those students to not rebuke them for not clearing the examination and to encourage them to do better in the next year.

Radheshyam also lauded the evaluation team for their hard work in the pandemic period of COVID-19 and making the declaration of result possible.  

Asserting that there may be no error or mistake in the declaration of the examination result, the minister said if there is any error, the public should understand that it is not done intentionally.

The education department will take every feedback and suggestion for the development, added Radheshyam.

Archana Hijam of Meci Explorer Academy bagged the first position in Science stream, Khomdram Menaka Devi of T.G Higher Secondary School bagged the first position in Arts stream and Justina Yendrabam of T.G Higher Secondary School bagged the first position in Commerce stream.
