All Integrated Teachers’ Association, Manipur (AITAM) on Tuesday declared that the association will commence a mass casual leave for two days from Wednesday, condemning the order to change the salary of integrated teachers.
A release issued by AITAM president N Prakashchandra Singh stated that condemning the order to change the salary of integrated teachers, the head of account and all teachers concerned will take a mass casual leave for two days on August 31 and September 1.
It stated that the department of Education (S) had issued a letter on August 12 in which “the teachers are being pushed back to the condition they were in before the integration.”
It further stated that another order along with annexure, segregating teachers as department and Samagra of the department was issued, even though the teachers were no longer Samagra teachers after the integration.
It alleged the order of a separate head of account as confusing and vague. It further stated that “the order for a separate head of account for 3,480 teachers, who were integrated to the department vide letter no. 24/1/1-2/07-DE(S) Vol III (Pt) dated July 23, 2020 seems only an interim pacifier for our long struggle.”
After a minute discussion with all the executive members of AITAM, the association had decided to take up strong movements, it added.
