Guardians of candidates under the Demand Committee on Upgradation of 50 MBBS Seats has urged the Manipur government to pass an order for increasing 50 more MBBS seats at JNIMS before counselling for admission begins.
Many of the NEET (UG) qualified candidates are suffering from mental distress as they are not getting MBBS admission due to limited seats in JNIMS and RIMS, said a guardian M Swarnalata while speaking to the media on Thursday at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
Moreover, their careers are at risk as years pass by while preparing for NEET examination to pursue MBBS, she stated.
Pointing out that the number of doctors in the state is not proportionate with its number of population, she said, “The guardians strongly hope that the government will fulfil their demands considering the career of the NEET successful candidates and to increase the number of doctors in the state.”
