In a press meet, Borobekra Government Higher Secondary School Management Committee Local Educationist member Shyamal Kumar Bose said that the school had been functioning without a principal or vice principal since the retirement of its principal Gurumayum Manglem Sharma in July of 2021.

Mentioning the effects of lack of faculty in the school with about 700 students, he drew the attention of the authorities concerned to take up necessary actions immediately. He cautioned that if the authorities do not take up immediate action, the committee along with other CSOs and students’ organisations will take up intensified forms of protest. The Education minister should be responsible for any unwanted consequences of the protest, he added.

It may be mentioned that despite the stay order issued by the chief minister and the Education minister, owing to the protests and uproar of students’ organisations regarding the transfer of teachers without replacement, many teachers are yet to join and comply with their respective posts.
