The Samagra Shiksha Manipur (SSM) on Thursday distributed 5,000 tablets to 310 government secondary schools of Manipur in an effort to provide a digital learning platform for the students.
The tablets were distributed under the StateWide Integrated Education Management System (SWIEMS) at a function held at Samagra Shiksha, State Project Office, Babupara in Imphal West, SSM said in a release.
It stated that the function was graced by Education Minister Th Basanta as the chief guest, chief financial officer, Hitesh Arora and president of Hitachi MGRM Net, Deepak Mittal, as guests of honour while director of Education (S), L Nandakumar, presided it.
The education minister stressed on the importance of digitalised mode of learning in government schools in order to pace up with other private schools of the state and outside the state as well, the release maintained.
The director of Education (S) also highlighted that student’s data, teachers/staff attendance can be monitored in real-time through these tablets, as per the release.
He also informed that biometric attendance of the teachers will also be introduced in this system and it will help to enhance the efficiency of teachers and improve administration, the release added.
