14,500 schools in India to be developed as PM Shri Schools

14,500 PM SHRI schools to be be equipped with upgraded infrastructure, innovative pedagogy and technology.

The Central Cabinet has approved a new centrally sponsored educational scheme - PM SHRI Schools (PM Schools for Rising India), Union Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced on Wednesday.

Under the scheme, over 14,500 schools across India will be developed as PM Shri Schools in line with National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), the Union Education Ministry said.

The over 14,500 PM Shri Schools will be equipped with upgraded infrastructure, innovative pedagogy and technology, the ministry said.

"More than 14,500 schools across India will be developed as #PMSHRISchools, showcasing all components of #NEP2020. These will be exemplar schools, equipped with upgraded infrastructure, innovative pedagogy and technology," the education ministry announced in a Twitter post on Wednesday.
