Two more test COVID-19 in Manipur, active caseload surges to nine

Imphal East and Imphal West reported one new COVID-19 case each on Wednesday.

Manipur on Wednesday recorded two new COVID-19 cases, while no COVID-19 related was reported in the state, according to the latest update by the state health department. The day's positivty rate is 2.6 per cent. 

With the two new COVID-19 cases, the state's tally reached 1,37,240 while the death toll remained at 2,120. 
Manipur has so far conducted a total of 16,12,996 COVID-19 tests, including 78 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

The two new COVID-19 cases reported on Wednesday were from Imphal East and Imphal West respectively. 

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the state also reported one new recovery, taking the number of recovered cases at 1,35,111. The recovery rate is 98.45 per cent. Manipur now has nine COVID-19 active cases.

Meanwhile, a total of 353 D-type oxygen cylinders and 21 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of May 31.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 29,00,068 (first dose: 15,70,225 second dose: 12,32,311 precautionary dose: 97,532).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.88 per cent and for the second dose is 52.28 per cent, it mentioned.
