Sikkim's COVID-19 confirmed tally reaches 4,521; death toll 91

At least two more deaths were reported on Monday, according to the state health department

Tiny Sikkim in Northeast India, which opened its gate to tourists on October 10, has recorded a total of 4,521 COVID-19 confirmed cases with 25 new positive cases and 91 death tally as two more patients succumbed to the disease.

The 25 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths were reported on Monday, as per the official data. The two victims had comorbid conditions, the state health department said.

A total of 15 of the new cases were from West Sikkim while 10 new cases were reported from East Sikkim. With it, the number of active cases in the state stands at 293.

Meanwhile, 4,053 patients have recovered and 84 have migrated out.

Sikkim reported its first COVID-19 case on May 23, a 25-year-old student who returned from Delhi during the lockdown period.
