Sagolband Moirang Leirak in Imphal West has been declared micro containment zone after 65 people living in the area tested positive for COVID-19 in the last three days.
Deputy commissioner of Imphal West Th Kirankumar issued an order on Wednesday, stating that geographical area lying within a radius of 150 metre beyond the containment zone/area is identified as the Buffer Zone.
The deputy commissioner ordered sealing of the geographical area, entry and exit of population from the containment area, closure of schools and offices (if any) and bans vehicular movement in the area.
The deputy commissioner also ordered initiation of active surveillance of COVID-19 cases and compulsory use of AarogyaSetu application by all the people, staying / residing within the containment area.
For areas under the buffer zone, the deputy commissioner also ordered extensive surveillance and contact tracing of the positive cases, reporting clinically suspects cases of COVID-19 on a real time basis, clinical management of confirmed cases and sensitization of local residents on personal hygiene, physical distancing and other preventive measures.
The order also added that any person/ institution, organisation found violating any of the containment measures declared shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
The containment order shall be deemed to be lifted or de notified after 10 days from the date of issue of the order, provided all the persons within the containment zone are tested negative and no new COVID-19 case{s) arise{s) within the containment zone during the said period, the order stated.
