One tests COVID-19 positive in Manipur, no COVID-19 death for 16 days consecutive days

The single COVID-19 positive case reported on Saturday was from Imphal East.

Manipur continued to witness a downtrend in the daily COVID-19 cases with only one positive case recorded on Saturday and the death toll remained at 2,120 with zero fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. Consequently, the positivity rate is 0.4 per cent.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the single COVID-19 positive case reported on Saturday was from Imphal East. The state's COVID-19 tally reached 1,31,105 as of Saturday.

The state also recorded four new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,954. The recovery rate is 98.43 per cent. Manipur now has 31 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 211 D-type oxygen cylinders and 92 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 27,91,353 (first dose: 15,41,688 second dose: 11,83,370 precautionary dose: 66,295).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.54 per cent and for the second dose is 50.55 per cent, it mentioned.
