As many as 32 Omicron cases were detected in Manipur on Monday, taking the state's tally to 39, official sources said.
Manipur reported its first Omicron case on December 27 after a man from Imphal West district who returned from Tanzania tested positive for the new variant of concern.
Six more people tested positive for the new COVID-19 variant in the state on January 14. However, all the Omicron cases have completed their mandatory isolation period and have been discharged with RT-PCR negative reports.
Meanwhile, Manipur's COVID-19 tally surged to 1,27,493 with the addition of 235 new cases on Monday.
In Northeast India, Omicron cases have been reported in three states, including Meghalaya, Manipur and Assam. Among these, Meghalaya with 75 cases has the highest number of Omicron cases, followed by Manipur with 39 and Assam with nine cases.
