Nagaland reports 131 more COVID-19 cases; total tally rises to 5,214

The new cases include 70 from Kohima, 60 from Dimapur and one from Mon district, state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said.

Nagaland on Monday reported 131 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's total count to 5,214, official sources said.

Taking to Twitter, Nagaland Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said the new cases are among the 459 samples received.

The new cases include 70 from Kohima, 60 from Dimapur and one from Mon district, the health minister said. 

Meanwhile, 14 recoveries, including nine in Kiphire, four in Dimapur and one in Mon, were reported on Monday. With the new recoveries the number of recoverd cases increased to 3,897.

"131 new +ve cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 459 samples received. 70 in Kohima, 60 in Dimapur & 1 in  Mon. Also, state reports 14 recoveries of COVID-19 patients.9 in Kiphire, 4 in Dimapur & 1 in Mon. Wear Mask, Keep Distance, Stay Safe," the health minister tweeted on Monday.

While the number of COVID-19 active cases stands at 1,289, the state's death toll remains at eight.

On Sunday, Nagaland reported 19 new positive cases and 61 recoveries.
