Nagaland COVID-19 positive cases rise to 539

Four new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the state on Friday.

Nagaland on Friday reported four new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total number of novel coronavirus cases in the state to 539, official sources said.

The four new cases were among those 259 samples tested, state Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom said. Of them, three cases were reported from Mon while the other case is reported from Peren, the minister said.

"Out of 259 samples tested. 4 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 +ve have been detected," the health minister tweeted on Friday morning.

With the detection of the new cases, Nagaland now has 342 active COVID-19 cases while 197 patients have recovered from the infection.

Peren district, with 146 patients undergoing treatment, has the highest active cases in Nagaland, followed by Kohima with 83 and Mon with 41 active cases. Dimapur has 39 active cases, Tuensang 20, Phek nine, Zunheboto three and Mokokchung has one active COVID-19 case.

On Thursday, 34 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Nagaland while 15 more patients, 12 from Kohima, two from Dimapur and one from Peren, had recovered from COVID-19 the same day.
