MP RK Ranjan reviews COVID measures at RIMS Hospital

The MP held an interaction programme at RIMS along with the faculty members and officials of the institute in the presence of RIMS director Prof A Santa and RIMS medical superintendent Prof H Priyosakhi Devi.

To review the current COVID-19 care measures undertaken and facilities at RIMS in Imphal, MP RK Ranjan, who is also the member of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare, inspected the institute on Monday. 

During the inspection, an interaction programme was held at the Jubilee Hall of RIMS along with the faculty members and officials of the institute in the presence of RIMS director Prof A Santa and RIMS medical superintendent Prof H Priyosakhi Devi, said a release issued by media advisor of RIMS N Phillip.  

It stated that during the interaction programme, Santa briefed the MP about the various steps being taken in the hospital to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and Priyosakhi informed the MP regarding the hardship faced by the hospital in dealing with the treatment of COVID-19 positive patients.

The MP assured that he will appraise the ministry about the institute's requirements and advised to submit a proposal to the ministry to have a separate Infectious Disease Treatment Centre and an Eye Bank for the institute and to constitute a board to look after the expansion of the institute in the future, it added.
