Mizoram's COVID-19 tally on Monday surged to 4,040 with five new positive cases in a span of a day, official sources said.
Of the total caseload in the state, 186 cases are active, while 3,847 patients have recovered from COVID-19, according to an update posted by the the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Mizoram on Twitter.
COVID-19 has so far claimed seven lives in Mizoram, all from Aizawl, the DIPR said.
The capital city, Aizawl, has the highest number of COVID-19 active cases with 76, followed by Lawngtlai district with 49 and Lunglei district with 33. Serchhip district has 16 active cases, Kolasib district - 7, Champhai - 2, Mamit - 2, and Khawzawl - 1.
No new COVID-19 case has been recorded in three districts of Mizoram - Hnahthial, Siaha and Saitual, since the recoveries of the active cases, the DIPR added.
