Mizoram's COVID-19 recovery rate improves to 89.98 per cent

COVID-19 recovery rate in Mizoram improved to 89.98 per cent as 15 more persons recovered from the viral infection on Sunday, official sources said.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Mizoram stood at 3,823, including 3,440 recovered cases, 378 active cases and five deaths, according to an update posted by the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Twitter.

All five COVID-19 fatalities in the state were from Aizawl.

Of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, 2,820 are males while 1,003 are females, it stated.

Among the active cases, Aizawl has the maximum number of cases with 174, followed by Lawngtlai with 84 and Serchhip with 59.  No new COVID-19 cases has been reported in Hnahthial district after 15 patients recovered from the infection, the DIPR stated.

On Saturday, Mizoram recorded 16 new COVID-19 cases.
