Mizoram's COVID-19 caseload surges to 5,880

A total of 139 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Mizoram.

The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mizoram surged to 5,880 as 139 more positive cases,  the state Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) tweeted on Thursday.

With the new positive cases, the number of COVID-19 active cases also rose to 1,075, the DIPR said.

Among the COVID-19 active in Mizoram, Aizawl has the maximum cases at 801, followed by Serchhip at 84 and Lawngtlai at 68. The other COVID-19 active cases included 50 in Mamit, 36 in Kolasib, 15 in Lunglei, five in Khawzawl, four in Saitual, two in Siaha and one in Hnahthial.

Meanwhile, the cumulative number of  recovered cases stood at 4,792 and the death toll is 13, according to the DIPR.
