Mizoram's COVID-19 active caseload surges to 213

Mizoram reported 28 new COVID-19 positive cases in 24 hours.

Mizoram's COVID-19 tally climbed to 2,38,254 with the addition of 28 new positive cases. No new cases of COVID-19 related death were reported in the state and the death toll remained 723, as per the data updated by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) on Saturday.

As per the update, a total of 354 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was reported to be 7.91 per cent.

Among the new positive cases, eight were from Aizawl, five each from Saitual and Lunglei, three each from Khawzawl and Serchhip, two from Hnahthial and one each from Champhai and Kolasib.

With no new COVID-19 recovery, the cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 2,37,318. The number of active cases surged to 213 from Friday's 183, the DIPR stated.
