According to the Mizoram health department, 562 samples were tested in the past 24 hours at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) in Aizawl. Out of these samples, a 30-year-old man was detected for COVID-19.

According to the health department, the man is a Delhi returnee and an asymptomatic patient of COVID-19, the source added.

Meanwhile, three patients were discharged on Monday from ZMC after they recovered from COVID-19. With this, the total number of recovered persons of COVID-19 in Mizoram has reached 12. According to the Health department, two of the recovered individuals are from Aizawl and one from Mamit district.

According to the Health department, there are 130 active cases in the state now. It may be mentioned that Mizoram had reported the first COVID-19 case on March 24.

It was reported sometime ago that inmates who had completed their quarantine periods had to prolong their stay in quarantine centres in Mizoram as they were still yet to receive the sample test results.

Mizoram Health Minister Dr R Lalthangaliana had also said recently that the testing process could not be expedited as of now because installation of automated RNA extractor machines was still underway.
