Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms.
Taking to Twitter, the chief minister said that he is isolating himself and requested all those who came into contact with him to observe their symptoms and test if necessary.
"I have tested positive for COVID-19. I am isolating myself for the required time. I have mild symptoms. All those who came into contact with me last few days are requested to observe their symptoms and test if necessary," CM Sangma tweeted.
On Thursday, Meghalaya reported 329 COVID-19 cases and two deaths, taking the total confirmed cases and death toll to 87,404 and 1,494 respectively.
Of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases, 8,4281 have recovered, leaving the number of active cases at 1,629.
