Manipur's daily COVID-19 tally drops to 18
COVID-19 claimed two more lives in Manipur on Saturday, taking the state's death toll to 1,989.

Manipur's daily COVID-19 tally on Saturday dropped to 18 from Friday's 24. The state's tally reached 1,25,496 while the death toll mounted to 1,989 with two more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.2 per cent.
Both the two COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Saturday were from Imphal East. Both the deceased had co-morbidities and one was vaccinated with the first dose, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 11 cases. Three cases each were reported from Imphal East and Kakching and one from Thoubal.
The state also recorded 32 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,179. The recovery rate is 98.15 per cent. Manipur now has 328 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 397 D-type oxygen cylinders and 73 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,28,237 (first dose: 12,99,799 second dose: 9,28,438). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 66.03 per cent and for the second dose is 47.17 per cent, it mentioned.
