Manipur's COVID-19 recovery tally climbs to 15,750 against 19,725 confirmed tally

Manipur has recorded a cumulative number of recovered cases of 15,750 against the COVID-19 confirmed cases of 19,725, including 16,921 cases from the general population and 2,804 cases from the Central Security Personnel. The recovery rate now stands at 79.84 per cent.

In all, 132 COVID-19 patients were discharged while two patients succumbed to the illness on Thursday, taking the total death count to 189. The two victims are from Kamjong and Thoubal, according to the 5 pm release from the state COVID-19 Common Control Room on Thursday.

The releases also stated that 207 persons from the general population and 15 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases.

The positive cases from the general population are 75 from Imphal West, 85 from Imphal East, five from Thoubal, eight from Kangpokpi, six from Bishnupur, one each from Kakching and Kamjong, two each from Tengnoupal, Senapati, Chandel and Ukhrul, four from Churachandpur, and 14 from Tamenglong. All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 19,725 (General Population - 16,921 and Central Security Personnel 2,804). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 15.750 (General Population - 13.262 and Central Security Personnel 2.488). The number of active cases is 3.786 (General Population 3,474 and Central Security Personnel - 312).

Those who are in contact with a COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves. Contact Covid Control Room or CMO for testing, the health department stated.
