Manipur's COVID-19 caseload crosses 1.05 lakh

Manipur on Tuesday recorded 633 new COVID-19 positive cases and seven deaths due to the illness.

Manipur on Tuesday recorded 633 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,05,424 while the death toll mounted to 1,664 with seven more fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department. 

Of the seven COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Tuesday, two deaths were reported from Imphal West, three from Imphal East and one fatality each from Tengnoupal and Bishnupur, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

It stated that of the seven deaths, six persons had co-morbidities and only two of them were vaccinated with the first dose.

Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 271 and 133 cases respectively. Thirty-nine new cases are from Bishnupur, 66 from Churachandpur, 23 from Kakching, 24 from Noney, 19 from Senapati, 34 from Thoubal, nine from Chandel, eight from Ukhrul, three each from Pherzawal and Tamenglong, two from Tengnoupal and one each from Kangpokpi, Kamjong and Jiribam.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

The state also recorded 648 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 96,776.

The recovery rate reached 91.79 per cent and the the total number of active cases fell to 6,984, the release added.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,509 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and  357 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 14,06,729 (first dose: 11,53,583 and second dose: 2,53,146).

Vacant Beds in nine hospitals

According to the release, there are 155 vacant general beds and 65 ICU/HDU beds of COVID-19 in nine hospitals of Manipur. 

In ILAND Hospital (Contact No. 9540404955/ 7085206820) there are nine vacant general beds.

In MSF, Little flower School (Contact No. 9311222947) there are four vacant general beds and six ICU/HDU beds.

In CMC, Koirengei (Contact No. 9612636004/9612905628) there are 30 vacant general beds and seven ICU/HDU beds.

In Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (Contact No.7005436870/ 9612022125), there are 22 vacant general beds and one ICU/HDU beds.

In Jivan Hospital, Kakching (Contact No. 9366034272/ 7085348366) there are 13 vacant general beds and five ICU/HDU beds.

In Shija Hospital (Contact No. 7005097688/7005125158), there are 11 vacant general beds and 10 ICU/HDU beds.

In Raj Medicity (Contact No.7005105552/9366496411), there are 38 vaccnt general beds and 13 ICU/HDU beds.

In RIMS (Contact No. 7640862396), there are 23 vacant general beds and 13 ICU/HDU beds.

In JNIMS (Contact No. 8131855346), there are seven general beds and 10 ICU/HDU.

Vacant Beds in Covid Care Centre

According to a release, of the total 3,547 beds available in all the district Covid Care Centres of Manipur, the total number of vacant beds as on Tuesday are 2,255.

The vacant beds in Imphal East (Bal Bhawan, NSU, Standard College, AYUSH Hospital) are 193, 707 in Imphal West(LKK, RD Wing, MU Hostels, NIT), 247 in Thoubal, 59 in Bishnupur, 43 in Kakching, 99 in Churachandpur, 42 in Pherzawal, 200 in Senapati, 11in Tengnoupal, 53 in Jiribam, 31 in Noney, 57 in Kangpokpi, 231 in Tamenglong, 46 Chandel, 58 in Ukhrul and 178 in Kamjong, the release added.
