Manipur's COVID-19 caseload climbed to 26,225 as 152 more persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus while the death toll surged to 309 after three more persons succumbed to the infection on Monday, the state health department said.
As many as 152 persons, including one Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel, tested COVID-19 positive while three persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Manipur on Monday, a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The new positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (61), Imphal East (44), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (2), Kamjong (2), Churachandpur (16), Chandel (1) , Noney (4). All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.
Of the total 26,225 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state, 2,919 are active cases while 22,997 are recovered cases, the state health department said.
The new COVID-19 fatalities on Monday included two from Bishnupur and one from Churachandpur, it added.
Meanwhile, the state's COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 87.69 per cent with 149 new recoveries, the release stated.
The state health department further advised those in contact with a COVID-19 positive person to isolate themselves. In case of emergency, one can dial 24x7 Covid Common Control Room Number-1800-345-3818.
