Manipur's COVID-19 caseload climbs to 1,39,724

The State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported no cases of Covid 19 deaths. The cumulative number of deaths remained at 2,147.

Seven new COVID-19 cases were detected from as many as 422 samples tested in a span of 24 hours, taking the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,39,724 in Manipur, official sources said on Friday.

The COVID-19 Common Control Room stated in a release on Friday that one one male and six females were tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday. One case was reported from JNIMS while the remaining six were reported from other testing centres.

The positive cases from the general population are two each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Churachandpur, and one from Bishnupur. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it stated.

As many as 10 persons were discharged after completion of surveillance. They are from Home Isolation - 4, JNIMS – 2 and Discharged - 4.

The cumulative number of recovered cases stood at 1,37,513.  The number of active cases was 64 and recovery rate 98.42 per cent as of Friday.

The number of doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered on August 31 is 2,851.The cumulative dose adminitered has reached is 3186009 (of the total, first dose is 1632633, second dose is 1306831 and precautionary dose 246545).
