Manipur's COVID-19 active caseload dips below 500

Sixty-six new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Manipur on Wednesday.

The COVID-19 active caseload in Manipur on Wednesday dipped below 500 as 29 more persons recuperated from the infection, while the total caseload surged to 28,484 with 66 new cases, the state health department said. 

The number of COVID-19 active caseload in the state is now 479 and the number of recoveries is 27,642, according to a release issued by the COVID-19 common control room.

The state's COVID-19 recovery rate also improved to 97.04 per cent, the release stated.

On Wednesday, 65 persons (35 males and 30 females) from the general population and one personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed positive for COVID-19. 

The positive cases from the general population included 34 from Imphal West, 16 from Imphal East, nine from Churachandpur, three from Tengnoupal, and one each from Thoubal, Bishnupur and Tamenglong. All are locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release stated.

No new COVID-19 fatality was recorded in the state and the death toll stood at 363, it added.

Those who are in contact with a COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves immediately, contact the Covid Control room or the district CMO for testing. In case of emergency, one can dial 24x7 Covid Common Control Room Number-1800-345-3818; for home isolation-related cases, one can dial the home isolation helpline numbers- 0385-2414009 (State head quarter) and - 8415944151 (Thoubal), the state health services stated.

One can also avail online teleconsultation by government doctors from home (10 am to 3 pm every day except on Sunday) by downloading eSanjeevaniOPD app at Google Play store or go to the website -  www.esanjeevaniopd.in.

The state health department has also advised the public to dial - 104 Manipur Mental Health Helpline from 9 am to 9 pm, for mental wellbeing.
