Manipur has been witnessing a downtrend in daily COVID-19 positive tally for the fourth consecutive day with 530 new cases reported on Sunday as against 554 on Saturday, 687 on Friday and 730 on Thursday from 775 on Wednesday.
A total of 5,059 COVID-19 test results were recieved on Sunday. The new COVID-19 tally included two personnel of the Central Armd Police Force.
Despite the fall in the daily positive cases, Imphal West continued to report the hisghest number of new positive cases at 170 and seven COVID-19 deaths, while Imphal East reported 80 new COVID-19 positive cases and two more deaths, stated the release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
According to the release, 60 new positive cases are from Bishnupur, 56 from Thoubal, 54 from Churachandpur, 41 from Chandel, 36 from Kakching, 19 from Jiribam, seven from Ukhrul and six from Tamenglong.
Four districts - Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl and Senapati - reported no new COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday,
The day witnessed 15 more deaths, including two from Bishnupur and one each from Jiribam, Kakching, Thoubal and Ukhrul.
The total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases reached 59852, including 8,499 active cases. The cumulative number of recoveries crossed 50,000 at 50379 as 726 more patients, including those in home isolation, recovered in the last 24 hours. With it, the recovery rate moved up to 84.17 per cent as against 83.70 per cent on Saturday.
Meanwhile, a total of 1791 D-type oxygen cylinders and 498 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to various health facilities in the state, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
The cumulative number of Covid vaccine beneficiaries reached 4,67,076 on Sunday, the release added.
