Three of the 10 security escorts of the additional director general of Police (ADGP), T Guite, tested positive for COVID-19, official sources said on Thursday.

According to highly placed source, the three escorts of the ADGP tested positive on July 28. As per the standard operating procedure (SOP), the three police personnel were taken to Covid Care Centre at Imphal. However, the remaining seven escorts tested negative for COVID-19.

Subsequently, the Inspector General of Police, E Priyokumar Singh (for DGP) on Thursday instructed the director of Manipur Police Training Centre (MPTC) to immediately arrange accommodation for the seven escort personnel at the quarantine Centre of MPTC.
