Manipur reports zero death; new COVID-19 positive cases drop to 19

The state recorded 32 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,448 on Thursday.

Manipur on Thursday recorded 19 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,36,854 while the death toll remained at 2,113 with zero fatality recorded, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.5 per cent.

According to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room, six new COVID-19 cases were reported from Imphal West, another three cases from Kakching, two each from Bishnupur, Imphal East, Noney and Senapati and one ech from Churachandpur and Thoubal.

The state also recorded 32 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,34,448. The recovery rate is 98.24 per cent. Manipur now has 293 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 434 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 155 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 27,16,579 (first dose: 15,13,694 second dose: 11,42,715 precautionary dose: 60,170). 

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 61.08 per cent and for the second dose is 48.81 per cent, it mentioned.
