Manipur reports zero death, 334 new COVID-19 recoveries

Manipur now has 537 COVID-19 active cases, while the death toll remained 1,953 as of Tuesday.

Manipur on Tuesday recorded 71 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's confirmed tally to 1,24,588 while the death toll remained 1,953 with zero fatality. Consequently, the positivity rate is 3.5 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 30 and 24 cases respectively.

Five cases were reported from Ukhrul, four from Kakching, three from Churachandpur, two from Bishnupur and one each from Kamjong, Noney and Thoubal.

The state also recorded 334 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,22,098. The recovery rate is 98 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 537 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 349 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 15 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 20,68,405 (first dose: 12,63,238 second dose: 8,05,167). The cumulative number of person who havs been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 53.96 per cent and for second dose is 34.39 per cent, it mentioned.
