Manipur reports three more COVID-19 deaths, 39 new positive cases

The three COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday are one each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching.

Manipur on Sunday recorded 39 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,24,086 while the death toll mounted to 1,934 with three new fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department.

As the downtrend in new positive cases fell, consequently, the positivity rate stood at 2.9 per cent.

The three COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Sunday are one each from Imphal East, Imphal West and Kakching. Of the three deaths, two of them had co-morbidities, one was fully vaccinated and the other two are not vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room. 

As per the release, Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 16 and 12 cases respectively. Three cases were reported each from Chandel, Thoubal and Ukhrul and one each from Churachandpur and Senapati. 

The state also recorded 42 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,21,457.

The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent, the release added.

Manipur now has 695 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 481 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 43 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered vaccine had reached 20,04,538 (first dose: 12,52,873 second dose: 7,51,665).
