Manipur reported 26 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the state's confirmed caseload to 1,39,563, while the death toll remained 2,143 with no report of deaths on Wednesday.
Altogether 684 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. New cases were detcted in 10 males and 16 females, according to a release issued by COVID-19 Common Control Room on Wednesda.
The new cases confirmed from RIMS are two, three from JNIMS and remaining 21 are from other testing centres.
Imphal East reported eight cases, while Imphal West reported five; Bishnupur, Kakching and Senapati reported two cases while Thoubal, Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, Chandel and Churachandpur reported one case each. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.
According to the release, in the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee reported no death cases of Covid 19, thus the cumulative number of deaths standing at 2143. The number of persons discharged after completion of surveillance is 19. They are from Home Isolation (13), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1), SHRI (3) and CAPF (1).
Consequently, the cumulative number of positive cases is 1,39,563 and recovered cases is 1,37,264. The number of active cases is 156 and recovery rate is 98.35 per cent, it added.
It said that as on August 16, a total of 44 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 11 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of Manipur. The number of COVID-19 beds vacant in JNIMS is 29 and nine are occupied and in RIMS, 57 are vacant and five are occupied.
