Manipur reports 16 new COVID-19 positive cases, one death

Manipur on Thursday recorded 16 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's confirmed tally to 1,25,685 while the death toll mounted to 1,999 with one new fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The positivity rate is 1.2 per cent.
The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Thursday is from Thoubal, and the deceased had co-morbidities and was fully vaccinated, according to a release issued by State COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As per the release, six new COVID-19 cases were reported each from Imphal West and Imphal East and another four cases from Senapati.
The state also recorded 11 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,494. The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent. Manipur now has 192 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 257 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 34 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,85,575 (first dose: 13,16,220 second dose: 9,69,355).
The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 56.22 per cent and for the second dose is 41.41 per cent, it mentioned.
