Manipur records zero COVID-19 fatality for second consecutive day
A total of 23 new COVID-19 positive cases was reported in Manipur on Wednesday.

No COVID-19 death was reported in Manipur for second consecutive day on Wednesday, while the state's tally rose to 1,25,429 with 23 new positive cases. The death toll remained at 1,985 and day's positivity rate is 1.5 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department.
According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room., Imphal West and Imphal East continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 11 and five cases respectively. Four cases each were reported from Bishnupur, two from Churachandpur and one from Kangpokpi.
The state also recorded 28 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,119. The recovery rate is 98.16 per cent. Manipur now has 325 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 173 D-type oxygen cylinders and one B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.
As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,07,200 (first dose: 12,94,106 second dose: 9,13.094). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 65.74 per cent and for second dose is 46.39 per cent, it mentioned.
