Manipur must ramp up COVID-19 vaccination as rate still low: Governor La Ganesan

Manipur Governor La Ganesan interacted with the doctors, nurses, frontline workers and other related officials of RIMS and health department on Thursday, and distributed COVID-19 vaccination certificates, pens and badges to those persons who have been vaccinated with the second dose.

Manipur Governor La Ganesan on Thursday said that Manipur needs to push COVID-19 vaccination with more efforts as the vaccination rate in rural and hill areas is still lagging behind the rest.

During an inspection visit to the COVID-19 vaccination centre at RIMS on Thursday, the governor said that Manipur can set the records of 100 per cent vaccination among the states. The vaccination works should be geared up particularly in the hill and rural areas. It is also a good initiative that the number of vaccinated persons in the younger age group is being increased, he added.

The governor interacted with the doctors, nurses, frontline workers and other related officials of RIMS and health department, Manipur. He discussed the matter regarding the vaccination status in the state with COVID-19 vaccination team of RIMS.

Ganesan distributed COVID vaccination certificates, pens and badges to those persons who have been vaccinated with the second dose.
