Manipur logs 25 new COVID-19 positive cases, 11 more recoveries

No COVID-19 related death was reported in Manipur for the third consecutive day and the death toll remained at 1,895.

Manipur on Thursday recorded 25 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,454 while no COVID-19 related death was reported in the state for the third consecutive day. The death toll remained at 1,985 and the day's positivity rate is 1.7 per cent, according to the latest update by the state health department. 

According to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 19 cases. Two cases each were reported from Thoubal and one each from Bisnupur, Churachandpur, Kakching and Senapati.

The state also recorded 11 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,130. The recovery rate is 98.15 per cent. 

Manipur now has 339 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 379 D-type oxygen cylinders and 67 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,14,025 (first dose: 12,95,955 second dose: 9,18,070). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with first dose is 65.84 per cent and for second dose is 46.64 per cent, it mentioned.
