Manipur logs 19 new COVID-19 positive cases, one more death

Manipur's COVID-19 tally reached 1,25,515 while the death toll mounted to 1,990 on Sunday.

Manipur on Sunday recorded 19 new COVID-19 positive cases, pushing the state's tally to 1,25,515 while the death toll mounted to 1,990 with one fatality, according to the latest update by the state health department. The day's positivity rate is 1.5 per cent.

The single COVID-19 fatality recorded on Sunday was from Kakching. The deceased was not vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

As per the release, Imphal West continued to report the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 14 cases. Three cases were reported from Imphal East and one each from Kakching and Ukhrul.

The state also recorded 18 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,197. The recovery rate is 98.15 per cent. Manipur now has 328 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.

Meanwhile, a total of 238 D-type oxygen cylinders and 83 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,34,423 (first dose: 13,01,536 second dose: 9,32,887). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 66.12 per cent and for the second dose is 47.39 per cent, it mentioned.
