As many as 194 COVID-19 patients in Manipur had recovered and discharged from the Covid care facilities across the state, pushing the statewide total number of recovery cases to 5,358 and the recovery rate to 75.40 per cent, while active cases stood at 1,710 as 84 more people tested positive for the infection on Monday, the state health department said.
Of the new cases, 64 persons, including 48 males and 16 females, are from the general population and 20 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated. The new cases included 16 from Imphal East, 14 from Imphal West, eight from Thoubal, seven each from Jiribam and Bishnupur, five from Churachandpur, three from Chandel, and one each from Noney and Kakching, the release stated.
Thirteen persons are returnees from other states while the rest 51 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to different Covid care facilities and contact tracing and containment measures are in place, the release added.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 7,106 (general population - 5,395 and central security personnel - 1,711), it stated.
The state has so far reported 38 COVID-19 related deaths.
