Manipur's COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 0.5 per cent on Wednesday as the state recorded only eight new COVID-19 positive cases. With it, the state's COVID-19 confirmed tally reached 1,25,669 while the death toll mounted to 1,998 with three new fatalities, according to the latest update by the state health department.
The three COVID-19 fatalities recorded on Wednesday are from Bishnupur, Imphal West and Churachandpur. All the three deceased had co-morbidities and were not vaccinated, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

As per the release, Imphal West reported two new COVID-19 cases; another four cases were reported from Imphal East and one case each from Bishnupur and Thoubal.
The state also recorded 22 new recoveries, taking the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,23,483. The recovery rate is 98.26 per cent. Manipur now has 188 COVID-19 active cases, as per the release.
Meanwhile, a total of 268 D-type Oxygen Cylinders and 17 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 22,80,399 (first dose: 13,14,719 second dose: 9,65,680). The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 56.16 per cent and for the second dose is 41.25 per cent, it mentioned.
