Manipur COVID-19 active caseload crosses 200-mark

A total of 59 news COVID-19 cases were reported in Manipur on Tuesday and the active caseload surged to 216.

Manipur onTuesday reported 59 new COVID-19 positive cases and zero death cases, pushing the state's total positive cases to 1,37,543 and confining the death toll at 2,120.

Of the 59 positive cases, 25 were reported from Imphal West, 21 from Imphal East, three from Chandel, two each from Senapati, and Kamjong, and one each from Bishnupur, Ukhrul, Kakching, Kangpokpi and Noney. The positivity rate is 15.6 per cent.

According to the latest update by the state health department, a total of 379 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Tuesday. Manipur has so far conducted 16,17,452 COVID-19 tests.

The state also recorded 15 new COVID-19 recoveries increasing the number of recovered cases to 1,35,207 and the recovery rate is 98.30 per cent. Manipur now has 216 COVID-19 active cases, according to a release issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room.

Meanwhile, a total of 133 oxygen cylinders and 19 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur as of July 11.

As per the latest update, the total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 29,87,155 (first dose: 15,98,827 second dose: 12,67,469 and precautionary dose: 1,20,859).

The cumulative number of people who have been vaccinated in the state with the first dose is 62.1 per cent and for the second dose is 53.40 per cent, it mentioned.
