Manipur continues to report zero COVID-19 death for last six days

Manipur on Saturday reported total 19 new positive cases across the state, while no deaths were reported.

Manipur's COVID-19 death toll remained at 2002 as no COVID-19 deaths were reported for the sixth consecutive day, while 19 more people tested positive for the disease across the state, official sources said.

According to the latest release by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, all the 19 people who tested positive for COVID-19 belong to the general population. Four are from Thoubal district, three others from Bishnupur, eight from Imphal West and four from Imphal East.

The state's cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 1,25,807, while the total number of recoveries increased to 1,23,598 with 11 more recoveries. Consequently, the recovery rate currently is 98.24 per cent. With it, the total active cases in the state is 207.

As of December 31, a total of 85 D-type oxygen cylinders and 73 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur in the last 24 hours, the release stated.

The total number of people who have been administered the vaccine has reached 23,16,098 (first dose: 13,25023 second dose: 9,91,075) across the state, the release added.
