Manipur back to zero COVID-19 active cases

A total of 87 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Tuesday, of which none returned positive and the cumulative number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the state reached 16,65,766.

Manipur on Tuesday reported zero active COVID-19 cases as one infected person recovered and no further infection was detected in any part of the state, official sources said.

A total of 87 COVID-19 tests were conducted in Manipur on Tuesday, of which none returned positive and the cumulative number of COVID-19 tests conducted in the state reached 16,65,766.

According to the latest updated data issued by the state COVID-19 Common Control Room, the state's confirmed COVID-19 caseload stood at 1,39,924 and the death toll remained 2,149.

Meanwhile, the cumulative doses administered so far stood at 32,66,015 with no vaccination carried out on January 8-9. Out of it, the first dose is 16,48,740, second dose is 13,38,161 and precaution dose 2,79,114.

According to the release, in view of the surge in Covid BF.7 variant in other parts of the world, people in the state have been urged to get complete Covid vaccination doses and followCovid appropriate behavior such as wearing face masks, maintaining hand hygiene and social distancing.

It also urged those with any flu or flu-like symptoms to get tested. For any queries, contact state helpline No 0385-2410009, the release added.
