Maharashtra's COVID-19 active caseload fifth lowest in India

Maharashtra reported COVID-19 active caseload of 902 as of Thursday, while the caseload of 78,74,024 confirmed cases remained the highest among all states and UTs in India.

Maharashtra, which has been witnessing a downslide in daily COVID-19 positive cases, saw its active caseload falling to fifth place among all states and UTs in India with the report of 902 as of Thursday, according to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry.

Maharashtra's COVID-19 confirmed caseload reached 78,74,024, highest among all states and Union territories in India, while its death toll mounted to 1,47,783, with one fatality reported in the last 24 hours. Its total recoveries reached 77,25,339.

Kerala continued to report the highest COVID-19 active caseload at 4,003, followed by Karnataka with 1611, Assam with 1,353 active cases and Mizoram - 1,040. Delhi today has 458 COVID-19 active caseload.

Meanwhile, India reported 1,335 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking the total confirmed caseload to 4,30,25,775. The total cases included 4,24,90,922 total recoveries and 5,21,181 death toll with the report of 52 more deaths.

So far, 78,97,70,958 total samples have been tested, while 1,84,31,89,377 beneficiaries have been administered with the COVID-19 vaccines.
